Yesterday, I compiled and wrote a list of 89 ping servers for all of us to use when we have new post on our blog. These are very good list of all of us to reach out to more readers and also to improve our search engine ranking.

Our Blog can be Blacklisted or Banned due to Ping Spam 

Wordpress automatically send a ping signal whenever we publish a new post or save a post. This can accidentally lead to a over ping if we update or edit a few times. It is not our intention to ping, but wordpress do this automatically and it can lead to our blog being blacklist by the ping servers. Definitely, we do not want this to happen, right!

On the other hand, the benefit of wordpress blogging is that it allows scheduled posting. We can write our post ahead and schedule when the post goes live. However, wordpress initiates ping whenever we hit the publish button. This inform the ping server that we have new content. However, when the spider come to check out our blog, what happen? Our new blog is not live yet, and it landed us into another situation of unintentional spam again.

So, we need a tweak to the ping service. We want Wordpress to ping only at the scheduled time when there is a new post goes live. We do not want to have repeated pinging whenever we edit our post. How can we do it?
